2. Information We Collect

We collect the minimum information necessary to provide, maintain, and improve the Service. The types of information we collect include:

  • Account Information: When you register for an account, we collect your email address and a securely hashed version of your password. We never store or have access to your plain text password.
  • User-Provided Financial Data: Any financial information you voluntarily enter into the Service, such as budget categories and amounts, income details, expense records, debt information (principal, interest rates, payments), savings goals, and transaction details. This data is essential for the core functionality of the budgeting and tracking features.
  • Usage Data (Anonymous): We may automatically collect anonymized information about how you interact with the Service. This might include features accessed, session duration, button clicks, and general usage patterns. This data is aggregated, cannot be used to identify individual users, and helps us understand how to improve the Service.
  • Payment Information (via Paddle): If you subscribe to a paid plan ("Hero Pass"), payment processing is handled entirely by our Merchant of Record, Paddle.com Market Limited ("Paddle"). We do not directly collect or store your full credit card number or payment details. Paddle provides us with confirmation of payment and limited subscription details necessary to manage your paid account status.

  • To monitor and analyze usage trends (using anonymized data) to improve the Service's features, performance, and user experience.
  • To enforce our Terms of Service and other policies.
  • To comply with applicable legal obligations and respond to lawful requests from public authorities.

Legal Basis for Processing: We process your personal data based primarily on the necessity to perform our contract with you (i.e., provide the Service you signed up for) and for our legitimate interests (e.g., improving the Service, ensuring security), provided these interests are not overridden by your data protection rights. Where required, we may also process data based on legal obligations.

4. Data Storage, Security, and Retention

We take the security of your data seriously. User account information and user-provided financial data are stored using secure backend infrastructure provided by Supabase. We implement robust technical and organizational security measures designed to protect your information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include data encryption (in transit and at rest) and database security features like Row Level Security (RLS) intended to prevent users from accessing data other than their own.

While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data, remember that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee its absolute security.

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, primarily for the duration your account is active, and as required to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
